On Tuesday, May 5, 2015, after Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of Our Lady “of the Sign” in New York, a regular session of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia began.

This meeting, chaired by His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, will include His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany; His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America; His Eminence Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada; His Grace Bishop John of Caracas and South America; His Grace Bishop Peter of Cleveland and His Grace Bishop Nicholas.

The President of the Synod welcomed the archpastors and congratulated them on the continuing celebrations of the Paskha of Christ, expressing the wish that the joy in the Resurrected Christ would strengthen the hierarchs in their efforts to fulfill the work of God. The archpastors then reviewed and added to the agenda for the session. This session of the Synod of Bishops will conclude on Thursday, May 7.

For example, 5 euros a month is it a lot or little? A cup of coffee? It is not that much for a family budget, but it is a significant amount for Pravmir.

If everyone reading Pravmir could donate 5 euros a month, they would contribute greatly to our ability to spread the word of Christ, Orthodoxy, life's purpose, family and society.
