NEW YORK – The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America endorses and applauds the efforts of Governor Andrew Cuomo in introducing the Parental Choice in Education Act.
His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America comments, “on behalf of the Greek Orthodox citizens of New York who are deeply committed to their own parochial schools, I thank and congratulate Governor Cuomo for his leadership in this important family-oriented initiative. This is a step in the right direction for the State of New York, and for society as a whole.” The Orthodox Christians have always stood up for equality, and the Parental Choice in Education Act has the potential to offer equal opportunity in education to those who currently do not have the possibility of choice.
