The 5th Pan-Orthodox Pre-Council Conference is holding its plenary sessions at the Orthodox Centre of the Patriarchate of Constantinople in Chambésy, Switzerland. At the outset of the conference, telegrams asking for blessings and prayers were sent to the Primates of the Local Orthodox Churches. Given below is the message sent in reply by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill sends greeting to participants in the 5th Pan-Orthodox pre-council conference

His Eminence Metropolitan John of Pergamon

President of the 5th Pan-Orthodox Pre-Council Conference

His Eminence Metropolitan Jeremiah of Switzerland

Secretary for the Preparation of the Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church

To the participants in the 5th Pan-Orthodox Pre-Council Conference

Your Eminences and Your Graces, Brothers the Archpastors,

Honourable representatives of the Local Orthodox Churches,

Having learned about the beginning of the 5th Pan-Orthodox Pre-Council Conference, I lift up my zealous prayers to God, asking Him to bestow His blessing upon this lofty assembly and grant His abundant help to its participants in their forthcoming work which is to contribute to the strengthening of the church unity.

The Primates of the Holy Orthodox Churches who assembled in Constantinople in March last year entrusted you with the important task of revising and editing draft documents of the Pan-Orthodox Council. The successful fulfillment of this task will require your concentration, attentiveness not only to the texts you will consider, but also to each other, the ability to hear your brothers and reach consensus in the spirit of Christ’s love and mutual respect.

I wish the participants in the conference fruitful work and blessed success for the benefit of the Holy Church.

With love in the Lord,

+KIRILL

PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUSSIA

Since you are here…

…we do have a small request. More and more people visit Orthodoxy and the World website. However, resources for editorial are scarce. In comparison to some mass media, we do not make paid subscription. It is our deepest belief that preaching Christ for money is wrong.

Having said that, Pravmir provides daily articles from an autonomous news service, weekly wall newspaper for churches, lectorium, photos, videos, hosting and servers. Editors and translators work together towards one goal: to make our four websites possible - Pravmir.ru, Neinvalid.ru, Matrony.ru and Pravmir.com. Therefore our request for help is understandable.

For example, 5 euros a month is it a lot or little? A cup of coffee? It is not that much for a family budget, but it is a significant amount for Pravmir.

If everyone reading Pravmir could donate 5 euros a month, they would contribute greatly to our ability to spread the word of Christ, Orthodoxy, life's purpose, family and society.
