Prayer and faith are great spiritual power. It frees people from sins and heals the body and soul, said His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine in his sermon during the Divine Liturgy at the square in front of the Dormition Cathedral of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra on July 19, 2020, 6th Sunday after Pentecost, reports Lavra.ua.

Addressing those present, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church spoke about the healing of the paralytic by the Savior, and said that there is one method to alleviate the suffering from sins that people have committed and it is prayer and faith.

“When the paralytic was brought, the Lord saw the faith of those who brought him, and said that all sins were forgiven to the sick person. If the faith of other people and our own faith are united, this is a great power. And this spiritual power frees us from our sins and heals our body and soul!

“Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, we must take care of ourselves so as not to sin, we must pray with faith, we must ask holy people who live piously for their prayers. And if these prayers are united, it will certainly bring us the healing of our body and soul and will help us to achieve eternal salvation in Heaven in our Lord Jesus Christ!”

Since you are here…

…we do have a small request. More and more people visit Orthodoxy and the World website. However, resources for editorial are scarce. In comparison to some mass media, we do not make paid subscription. It is our deepest belief that preaching Christ for money is wrong.

Having said that, Pravmir provides daily articles from an autonomous news service, weekly wall newspaper for churches, lectorium, photos, videos, hosting and servers. Editors and translators work together towards one goal: to make our four websites possible - Pravmir.ru, Neinvalid.ru, Matrony.ru and Pravmir.com. Therefore our request for help is understandable.

For example, 5 euros a month is it a lot or little? A cup of coffee? It is not that much for a family budget, but it is a significant amount for Pravmir.

If everyone reading Pravmir could donate 5 euros a month, they would contribute greatly to our ability to spread the word of Christ, Orthodoxy, life's purpose, family and society.
