Patriarch Irinej and Dodik on Spiritual Unity of the Serbian People

admin | 02 August 2012

Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church Irinej and the Republic of Srpska President, Milorad Dodik, assessed in Belgrade that the Church is one of the most important institutions strengthening the Serbian national identity. With his ideas and his mission, President Dodik is strengthening ties between the Serbs living along the banks of the Drina River, contributing to the survival of the Serbian people, and the Church assists him in this mission, by doing everything in its power so that „we remain one,” the Patriarch said. Dodik pointed that the Serbian Orthodox Church is one of the vital institutions that strengthen the identity of the Serbian people as a whole, adding that it is very important for the Republic of Srpska, as it is engaged in the constant political battle for rights of the Serbian people. Reminding that over the past two decades, several hundreds of facilities of the Serbian Orthodox Church have been built, Dodik said that the focus is now on efforts to strengthen the influence of the Serbian Orthodox Church through the education system, and this will be done through opening of several high schools to be run by the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Since you are here…

…we do have a small request. More and more people visit Orthodoxy and the World website. However, resources for editorial are scarce. In comparison to some mass media, we do not make paid subscription. It is our deepest belief that preaching Christ for money is wrong.

Having said that, Pravmir provides daily articles from an autonomous news service, weekly wall newspaper for churches, lectorium, photos, videos, hosting and servers. Editors and translators work together towards one goal: to make our four websites possible - Pravmir.ru, Neinvalid.ru, Matrony.ru and Pravmir.com. Therefore our request for help is understandable.

For example, 5 euros a month is it a lot or little? A cup of coffee? It is not that much for a family budget, but it is a significant amount for Pravmir.

If everyone reading Pravmir could donate 5 euros a month, they would contribute greatly to our ability to spread the word of Christ, Orthodoxy, life's purpose, family and society.
