“It was with grief that I took the sad news about the terrorist attack against you during your visit to the city of Al Qamishli. Such acts of violence cannot be justified by any slogans and ideas,” the patriarch said in his address to Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, quoted by the patriarch’s press service.
The patriarch said he is confident that peace and brotherly love will prevail again in the long-suffering Syrian land “because terrorism does not have and cannot have a future.”
He extended his condolences to the relatives and loved ones of those killed in the attack in Al Qamishli.
“I thank God for keeping you unharmed and I pray for the recovery of the people hurt in this attack. May the Lord strengthen you in your ministry, which you are carrying out with diligence and fearlessness, being full of readiness to lay down your soul for your flock,” the address said.
