“The way of the Savior is the way of love when a person turns away from focusing on himself to those who need his help and support,” he said in his Easter address to televiewers.
According to the primate, following this way “we learn the mystery of human happiness opened to us by God, which is concealed in sacrificial, unconditional, all forgiving love, shown by the Savior on the Cross, which should be reflected in our life.”
The primate believes that “the hell is not a place, but it is a state of mind, it is life without God,” and if we “on our own will are staying in a hellish state without God, in alienation from our neighbors, then the doors of paradise are closed to us,” as “there is no other way to the eternal life rather than following Christ, holding His hand, following His way.”
Patriarch Kirill called Resurrection of Christ a great victory over death, over decay, over the tyranny of sin.
“Let our affairs witness to our desire to follow the Lord Jesus and stay in love with people we meet in our life,” he said.
