Moscow, May 25, Interfax - President Vladimir Putin has stressed the significant contribution made by the Russian Orthodox Church to the coexistence of different religions in Russia.
Putin says Russian Orthodox Church remains leading spiritual component of society

“The Russian Orthodox Church as a leading spiritual component of our society is making a very significant contribution to the cause of the coexistence of religions, representatives of different creeds,” he said at a meeting with the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill.

Putin noted that the patriarch has always headed the process. He greeted the patriarch on his name-day and simultaneously on the Day of Slavic Written Language pointing out to the happy coincidence of the two holidays.

“Thank you, Vladimir Vladimirovich, for the kind words and for the fact that the relations between the church and state are developing a very good way at all levels with your direct involvement,” the patriarch said in reply. “The church-state relations are developing very correctly,” he said.

“The fact that our society is consolidating around fundamental moral principles without which neither the individual, nor society can exist is the result of our joint efforts,” he said.

Since you are here…

…we do have a small request. More and more people visit Orthodoxy and the World website. However, resources for editorial are scarce. In comparison to some mass media, we do not make paid subscription. It is our deepest belief that preaching Christ for money is wrong.

Having said that, Pravmir provides daily articles from an autonomous news service, weekly wall newspaper for churches, lectorium, photos, videos, hosting and servers. Editors and translators work together towards one goal: to make our four websites possible - Pravmir.ru, Neinvalid.ru, Matrony.ru and Pravmir.com. Therefore our request for help is understandable.

For example, 5 euros a month is it a lot or little? A cup of coffee? It is not that much for a family budget, but it is a significant amount for Pravmir.

If everyone reading Pravmir could donate 5 euros a month, they would contribute greatly to our ability to spread the word of Christ, Orthodoxy, life's purpose, family and society.
