admin | 03 February 2013

The Russian Church has 829 parishes and 52 monasteries in 57 foreign countries outside the former Soviet Union.

In the past two years, it has established congregations and built churches in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia. Church construction in Madrid and the United Arab Emirates is under way.

Patriarch Kirill spoke about this at a session of the Bishops Convention in Moscow Saturday.

He said the Russian Diaspora numbers around 30mln, and most of its members are Orthodox Christians.
