Saint Tikhon’s Monastery Press is pleased to announce the release of its most recent title, The Life and Work of Metropolitan Leonty.

Edited by Dr. David C. Ford, Professor of Church History at Saint Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, South Canaan, PA, the 276-page volume, according to His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, “provides important glimpses into the life and heart of a true man of God, a prophet in the deepest sense of the word…. May we all receive even a small crumb from the bountiful table of his life.”

Dr. Ford also edited Saint Tikhon of Moscow: Instructions and Teachings for the American Orthodox Faithful (1898 – 1907), published by Saint Tikhon’s Monastery Press.

“This volume is the first comprehensive publication in English on the remarkable life and Church ministry of Metropolitan Leonty [Turkevich]—a life and ministry which mirror the tumultuous history of the Church both in Russia and America for most of the 20th century,” writes Alex Liberovsky, Archivist of the Orthodox Church in America.  “It includes scholarly presentations given at the Symposium held in 2015 at Saint Tikhon’s Seminary commemorating the 50th anniversary of his repose, including funeral eulogies and other testimonials from those who remember him, as well as a sampling of his extensive and diverse writings, some newly translated into English.”

The volume may be ordered online or by contacting Priest Mikel Hill at mikel.hill@stspress.com.  Phone orders are also being accepted at 888-454-6678.

Since you are here…

…we do have a small request. More and more people visit Orthodoxy and the World website. However, resources for editorial are scarce. In comparison to some mass media, we do not make paid subscription. It is our deepest belief that preaching Christ for money is wrong.

Having said that, Pravmir provides daily articles from an autonomous news service, weekly wall newspaper for churches, lectorium, photos, videos, hosting and servers. Editors and translators work together towards one goal: to make our four websites possible - Pravmir.ru, Neinvalid.ru, Matrony.ru and Pravmir.com. Therefore our request for help is understandable.

For example, 5 euros a month is it a lot or little? A cup of coffee? It is not that much for a family budget, but it is a significant amount for Pravmir.

If everyone reading Pravmir could donate 5 euros a month, they would contribute greatly to our ability to spread the word of Christ, Orthodoxy, life's purpose, family and society.
