On Sunday, July 8, His Holiness, Patriarch Kirill met with Sasha Kulagin, a disabled boy, and his mother Svetlana in Murom. The Patriarch offered his assistance in the child’s hospitalization and treatment.
According to patriarchia.ru, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church met Sasha, who lives in Vyazniki, for the first time during his visit to Vladimir in September 2014.
The next year His Holiness Kirill invited the boy to the children’s Patriarchal Christmas Tree show in the Kremlin.
Since then, with the Patriarch Kirill’s blessing, the child has been assisted by members of the Moscow movement “Orthodox volunteers”. They support the boy’s family financially and participate in medical care’s organization. In particular, the boy was given a special orthopedic bed.
Sasha’s condition has worsened recently, that is why during the conversation on July 8, His Holiness, Patriarch Kirill, proposed sending documents that are necessary for the organization of the boy’s hospitalization and treatment. Sasha’s mother thanked His Holiness and the volunteers for their active help.
