His Holiness Patriarch Kirill Answers Questions of Japanese Journalists on the Eve of his Visit to Japan

On 4 September 2012, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church gave an interview to representatives of the major mass media of Japan at the Patriarchal and Synodal resident at St. Daniel’s Monastery.

Taking part in the talk with His Holiness were correspondents of the NHK TV&Radio, Kyodo Tsushin news agency, and Yomiuri national newspaper. His Holiness told them of his upcoming primatial visit to the Country of Rising Sun and described the role of religious factor in the development of relations between Russia and Japan.

“Religious ties between our peoples have a great potential, as the ties on spiritual level concern human hearts. Therefore, a real reconciliation between our nations would come true only with an active involvement of religion,” His Holiness said.
