His Majesty King of Spain thanks His Holiness Patriarch Kirill for words of condolence and support after train crash in Santiago de Compostela

His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain sent a telegram to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, thanking him for his warm words of solidarity in the face of the terrible tragedy that occurred near Santiago de Compostela on July 24. The train accident claimed the lives of over seventy people; many people were injured.

The text of the telegram is given below.

I have very much appreciated your condolences and solidarity on the recent train accident that has occurred in Angrois (Santiago de Compostela).

At this sorrowful hour, your kind words are most welcome and they will be a source of consolation for the bereaved families.

…we do have a small request. More and more people visit Orthodoxy and the World website. However, resources for editorial are scarce. In comparison to some mass media, we do not make paid subscription. It is our deepest belief that preaching Christ for money is wrong.

For example, 5 euros a month is it a lot or little? A cup of coffee? It is not that much for a family budget, but it is a significant amount for Pravmir.

If everyone reading Pravmir could donate 5 euros a month, they would contribute greatly to our ability to spread the word of Christ, Orthodoxy, life's purpose, family and society.
