According to the Eastern American Diocese website, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York issued instructions for prayers for peace in Belarus in the churches of the diocese:

Having observed with grief and great concern the political upheavals in the Republic of Belarus, we ask that the faithful of the Russian Church Abroad strengthen their prayers for peace and the restoration of lawfulness among our brothers and sisters in that country.

Rectors of the parishes and monasteries of the Eastern American Diocese are instructed to add this special petition to the Augmented Litany at the divine services this Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th of August.

The prayer for peace in Belarus in English:

O Master, Lover of mankind, King of the ages and Bestower of good things, Who didst destroy the middle wall of enmity and grant peace to the human race: do Thou now also send down peace into the hearts of the people of Belarus; instill in all the fear of Thee and confirm in them longsuffering and love one for another; extinguish every dispute and banish all temptation to disagreement, we pray Thee, quickly hearken and graciously have mercy.

Since you are here…

…we do have a small request. More and more people visit Orthodoxy and the World website. However, resources for editorial are scarce. In comparison to some mass media, we do not make paid subscription. It is our deepest belief that preaching Christ for money is wrong.

Having said that, Pravmir provides daily articles from an autonomous news service, weekly wall newspaper for churches, lectorium, photos, videos, hosting and servers. Editors and translators work together towards one goal: to make our four websites possible - Pravmir.ru, Neinvalid.ru, Matrony.ru and Pravmir.com. Therefore our request for help is understandable.

For example, 5 euros a month is it a lot or little? A cup of coffee? It is not that much for a family budget, but it is a significant amount for Pravmir.

If everyone reading Pravmir could donate 5 euros a month, they would contribute greatly to our ability to spread the word of Christ, Orthodoxy, life's purpose, family and society.
