The Holy Royal and Stavropegic Monastery of Machairas is located at the foot of the Kionia peak of the Troodos mountain range on the island of Cyprus, at an altitude of 870 meters. It was founded in the 12th century with the help of the Byzantine emperors and is considered the 2nd largest monastery in Cyprus.

But also, the building and spiritual renovation it experienced after the abbotship of Abbot Athanasios, now Metropolitan of Limassol.
