Patriarch Kirill Conducts Liturgy at Orthodox Church in Tokyo

Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill led a liturgy in the Nikolai-do Cathedral in Tokyo on Sunday.

The cathedral was named after St. Archbishop Nikolai, the founder of the Japanese Orthodox Church.

Dozens of clerics and about 1,000 worshipers attended the liturgy, which was conducted in Old Church Slavonic and in Japanese. Patriarch Kirill’s visit to Japan had been timed to coincide with the centennial of the archbishop’s death.
