Lukashenko congratulates Patriarch Kirill on enthronement anniversary

MINSK, 1 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill on the enthronement anniversary, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Thanks to the noble service as the leader of the Russian Orthodox Church you have big authority, your versatile activities are strongly appreciated by people. As a preacher, theologian, enlightener, you help people find right moral guidelines,” the message of greetings reads.

Alexander Lukashenko noted the Belarusian people appreciate the efforts of Patriarch Kirill to enhance peace and accord between countries, the commitment to protecting common history relying on Christian traditions. “Your participation in the celebrations of the 1000th anniversary of St. Vladimir’s passing in Belarus support believers and inspire them to do good deeds,” the Belarusian head of state believes.

“I am convinced that your care of the Belarusian land will not weaken, and the spiritual bonds between our nations will be enhanced in the future,” the President said.
