‘Molotov cocktail’ thrown at church of Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine

Moscow, November 7, Interfax - Unknown individuals set fire to the Church of Cyril and Methodius of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in Pavlograd, Dnipro Region of Ukraine, on Monday.

The incident occurred at 2:00 a.m. The people threw three ‘Molotov cocktails’ inside the building, the press service for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church said.

The choir gallery with divine service books burned down fully and considerable damage was done to the central part of the church, the decorations, icons, windows and the heating system.

However, the altar, which was hit by one of the ‘Molotov cocktails’, was not damaged because the propellant had spilled out of the bottle, the report said.
