Participants in the celebrations told an Interfax-Religion correspondent that a bat-eared red and white puppy was given to Patriarch Kirill in a bag on behalf of the parishioners of the Dormition Cathedral in London.

“The puppy looked out from the bag and was interested to see its new master. Patriarch Kirill, who is famous for his good attitude to animals, smiled at his new pet and started patting the dog’s head,” the interviewee of the agency said.

Welsh Corgi are especially popular in Britain because they live in the royal family.
