AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev received Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Rus', who is in Bishkek on working visit, on May 29.
Atambayev welcomed the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church on Kyrgyz land and said he was happy to see him.
“Welcome to Kyrgyzstan, your Holiness. I remember the times when you warmly welcomed me in Moscow. I am pleased to see developments in our ties. We’ve finished a renovation of the cathedral, we’re opening soon a church and I think we’ll see opening of the churches here further,” said Atambayev.
Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, for his part, said he’s watching the activities of the president.
“I remember our first meeting. All this time that has past since then I am watching your activities and want to thank you for your attention to the Orthodox church. Presence of the Orthodox church here makes the Kyrgyz society multinational, multiconfessional,” he said praising the stable society that Kyrgyzstan has and the role that Atambayev plays in it.
Since you are here…
…we do have a small request. More and more people visit Orthodoxy and the World website.
However, resources for editorial are scarce.
In comparison to some mass media, we do not make paid subscription.
It is our deepest belief that preaching Christ for money is wrong.
Having said that, Pravmir provides daily articles from an autonomous news service,
weekly wall newspaper for churches, lectorium, photos, videos, hosting and servers.
Editors and translators work together towards one goal: to make our four websites possible -
Pravmir.ru, Neinvalid.ru, Matrony.ru and Pravmir.com. Therefore our request for help is understandable.
For example, 5 dollars a month is it a lot or little?
A cup of coffee?
It is not that much for a family budget, but it is a significant amount for Pravmir.
If everyone reading Pravmir could donate 5 dollars a month,
they would contribute greatly to our ability to spread the word of Christ,
Orthodoxy, life's purpose, family and society.
