“What I mean is that the president will visit the Church of the Assumption of the Holy Virgin and will then meet with the members of the Holy Kinot, which is the governing body of Athos. He is expected to deliver a speech there,” Ushakov told reporters ahead of the Russian president’s visit to Greece.

Afterwards, Putin will visit Saint Panteleimon Monastery, which will host a ceremony dedicated to the 1,000-year anniversary of Russian monasticism.

“This ceremony will be held in the presence of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia,” Ushakov said.
