1600 Children Baptized in Tbilisi with the Blessing of Patriarch Ilia

About 1,600 children received Holy Baptism at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Tbilisi on June 19, 2022. Mass introducing to the Orthodox faith through the Sacrament of Baptism on the Sunday of All Saints was officiated by His Holiness Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia, reports patriarchate.ge.

According to the data of the Patriarchate, after the 65th Mass Baptism, the list of godchildren of the Primate of the Georgian Church has reached 44,000.

His Holiness congratulated everyone who came to the celebration on a “glorious day”.

“Today all Georgia is happy! God bless my godchildren, God bless their families! Christ baptized 1600 children. May the Lord give strength to His people, may the Lord bless His people with peace,” Patriarch Ilia wished those present.
