PRAVMIR. June 18, 2014. June 11 at the center for temporary refugee housing with children, which is organized by our church in the framework of the mission "The Church for Children" together with the Charity Fund to “We Help”, the first group of refugees from Slaviansk and Kramatorsk have arrived.

“Most of the refugees are women and children: a total of 47 people, half of them are children, including ten babies under the age of 3”, related the website site of the Archangel Michael church in Volosskoe.

“Our mission is to take children from the combat zones, thus preventing their participation in the armed conflict, even as witnessed”, noted head of the Supervisory Board of “We Help” priest Andrey Pinchuk.

When learning that the residents of Slaviansk and Kramatorsk are looking for ways to evacuate to peaceful regions, the foundation “We Help” and the Mission “The Church for Children” gathered a group of volunteers who in five days managed to organize a place for temporary accommodation of 100 people.

This center for the temporary stay of refugees with children is located at a school in the Volosskoe village of the Dnepropetrovsk region. Classrooms have become rooms for temporary accommodation of refugees from eastern Ukraine. Every classroom has ten beds, so several families live in each room.

Volunteers are looking to not only accommodate the houseless people in the center, but are also doing everything to help the family settle in. They have already taken from train stations many families who have managed to come to Dnepropetrovsk. Five families have been accommodated in other families, 19 people in total.

For those who stay in the center, not only accommodation is organized, but also a program that is designed to occupy the children so that parents have an opportunity to quietly arrange all necessary documents, solve other pressing problems, or just have some rest.

Since you are here…

…we do have a small request. More and more people visit Orthodoxy and the World website. However, resources for editorial are scarce. In comparison to some mass media, we do not make paid subscription. It is our deepest belief that preaching Christ for money is wrong.

Having said that, Pravmir provides daily articles from an autonomous news service, weekly wall newspaper for churches, lectorium, photos, videos, hosting and servers. Editors and translators work together towards one goal: to make our four websites possible - Pravmir.ru, Neinvalid.ru, Matrony.ru and Pravmir.com. Therefore our request for help is understandable.

For example, 5 euros a month is it a lot or little? A cup of coffee? It is not that much for a family budget, but it is a significant amount for Pravmir.

If everyone reading Pravmir could donate 5 euros a month, they would contribute greatly to our ability to spread the word of Christ, Orthodoxy, life's purpose, family and society.
