Dacic, Patriarch Irinej Discuss Kosovo’s UNESCO Application

BELGRADE – Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Irinej received a visit from Serbia’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, with whom he discussed activities related to Kosovo’s aspirations to join UNESCO.

The meeting emphasized the readiness for full cooperation and discussed concrete modalities of achieving coordination of efforts aimed at safeguarding the interests of Serbia and the Serbian Orthodox Church in the southern Serbian province.

According to a joint release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Serbian Orthodox Church, the meeting was attended by Serbian Ambassador to UNESCO Darko Tanaskovic, Head of the Serbian Foreign Ministry department responsible for the UN Danijela Cubrilo and Secretary General of the Ministry Veljko Odalovic.

Also attending the meeting were members of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Srbian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Amfilohije and Bishop of Backa Irinej.

For example, 5 euros a month is it a lot or little? A cup of coffee? It is not that much for a family budget, but it is a significant amount for Pravmir.

If everyone reading Pravmir could donate 5 euros a month, they would contribute greatly to our ability to spread the word of Christ, Orthodoxy, life's purpose, family and society.
