On June 20, 2022, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the handover of work responsibilities took place at the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, reports patriarchia.ru.
In accordance with an established procedure, new DECR chairman, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, accepted the documents dealing with statuary, financial and administrative-economic aspects of the synodal department’s work.
After the transfer, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk had a personal conversation with Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev), who was appointed Head of the Budapest-Hungarian Diocese, Metropolitan of Budapest and Hungary, on June 7, 2022.
