Moscow, May 27, Interfax – Mine explosion killed a woman near the Church of the Derzhavnaya Icon of the Mother of God in the Artyom District, Slavyansk.

The church was also damaged: the mine blew out five windows, impaired a side of the faзade, the church fence was destroyed. The mine detonated in ten meters from the church. There were no people in the church, the Slavyansk Diocese press service informs.

“Shelling in this part of the city started in 07:30 p.m. Five mines were directed to the Artyom District, they damaged residential houses and a dormitory with students. Another mine damaged a many-storeyed residential house in 200 meters from the church, there is information about two people killed in the house – a man and a woman,” the message reads.
