On August 2, when the memory of the Holy Prophet Elias is celebrated, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia has sent the following congratulatory message to His Holiness and Beatitude Catholicos-Patriarch Iliya II:
Patriarch Kirill’s message of greeting to Primate of Georgian Orthodox Church on the occasion of his name day

Your Holiness and Beatitude,

Beloved in the Lord Brother and Concelebrant:

Kindly accept my congratulations on the commemoration day of the glorious Elias the prophet of the great deeds of our God and your intercessor at the throne of the Heavenly King.

Holding firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught (cf. Tit. 1:9), you instruct the verbal sheep of Christ in the faith and devotion, seeking to reveal your image of a true spiritual father, merciful, loving and fair.

I prayerfully wish Your Holiness and Beatitude spiritual and physical strength and God’s abundant help in your work for the good of the Georgian Church and the entire Orthodoxy.

With brotherly love in the Lord,

Since you are here…

…we do have a small request. More and more people visit Orthodoxy and the World website. However, resources for editorial are scarce. In comparison to some mass media, we do not make paid subscription. It is our deepest belief that preaching Christ for money is wrong.

Having said that, Pravmir provides daily articles from an autonomous news service, weekly wall newspaper for churches, lectorium, photos, videos, hosting and servers. Editors and translators work together towards one goal: to make our four websites possible -,, and Therefore our request for help is understandable.

For example, 5 euros a month is it a lot or little? A cup of coffee? It is not that much for a family budget, but it is a significant amount for Pravmir.

If everyone reading Pravmir could donate 5 euros a month, they would contribute greatly to our ability to spread the word of Christ, Orthodoxy, life's purpose, family and society.

Dear Friends,

Our website exists owing to your generous assistance, thanks to the funds donated by our beloved readers.

Please assist us in the continuation of our work.
