He will consecrate the Resurrection Cathedral in Bishkek and serve a liturgy there on Saturday, May 28. He will also consecrate the foundation stone in the construction of the Orthodox Christian School of St. Vladimir’s Cathedral in Bishkek on the same day, the patriarch’s press service said.
The patriarch is expected to meet with representatives of the Kyrgyz authorities and the leaders of the country’s Islamic community.
Patriarch Kirill will also visit the Boris Yeltsin Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, where he will present the Kyrgyz translation of his book Freedom and Responsibility prepared by the Russian-Kyrgyz Business Council with assistance of the Synodal Department for External Church Relations and the local diocese.
