“On these days of sorrow I wish to the relatives and friends of those killed and injured, as well as to all Turkish people, fortitude and spiritual strength in enduring this ordeal,” official website of the Russian Orthodox Church quotes the patriarch as saying to the Turkish leader.
Patriarch Kirill says the committed crime cannot be justified. “The committed atrocity is unjustifiable. People of good will never put up with terrorism as a means of achieving any goals. It is my conviction that terrorism has no future,” he said.
In his address to the patriarch of Constantinople the head of the Russian Church, besides the words of sympathy, expressed gratitude for his condolences in connection with children’s tragic death on Syamozero in Karelia.
“Such tragic events make us realize the necessity of preserving spiritual unity and mutual prayerful support that helps us worthily go through all given trials,” Patriarch Kirill writes.
