Georgian patriarch condemns same-sex “marriage” permitted in U.S

Tbilisi, June 29, Interfax - Legal acknowledgment of same-sex "marriage" in the United States is a mistake, Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II of All Georgia said.

“It became known from mass media reports that it was decided in the U.S. that same-sex “marriage” is permitted in all states. This is a big mistake and Americans themselves and clergy say this. We confirm this as well and state that this is a big mistake,” Ilia II said after the service in St. Trinity Cathedral in Tbilisi.

“Georgians should distinguish between good and evil and between things which are acceptable and which are not,” he said.
